“I’m Capricorn, you’re Leo, my mother is Taurus and the neighbor is Aquarius.”

Does this sound familiar? I believe so. Nowadays, most of us know our zodiacal sign and the interest we have for this subject is continuously growing. But how many of us actually know what a horoscope and a chart are?

Even in ancient times astrology helped people find the good and bad places for them on earth, it was based on calculation and conformity of signs, houses and squares to the four sides of the earth.. The most attention was paid to analysis of the sign’s quality and the qualities of the researched places in the country.

The scientific revolution that started in XVII century has caused some illusions to many western intellectuals, that in the near future all secrets of the world will be discovered by the power of the main and experimental science. The worldwide recognition of the heliocentric Kopernik theory (Mikolaj Kopernik (1473-1543) the founder of modern astronomy) and then the discovery of new planets has been seized as a refutation of the astrology that traditionally used Ptolemy’s geocentric model (Ptolemy (367?-283?b. c.), astronomer and general in Alexander the Great’s army who succeeded him as ruler of Egypt (323-285 b. c.)) and only five visible planets.

There are twelve Chinese year signs in the Chinese Zodiac. Unlike in our western astrology, in Chinese astrology each sign lasts for a year. Legend has it that as Buddha was about to depart the earth he summoned all the animals to say goodbye. Only twelve turned up so, to show his appreciation of their loyalty, he vowed that from then on each year would bear the name of one of the animals.

India has retained a great tradition of producing intellectual giants since time immemorial. Some of these outstanding people were known as Rishis. Rishi is defined as one who observes something new in nature (Rishih Darshanat)-[reference number1] or simply put it is a Sanskrit term that was used to indicate a scientist. Even at the risk of doing slightly out of context, it remains to be said that to use the title of Maharshi with the names of even such spiritual teachers and religious reformers as Swami Vivekananda or Swami Dayananda would not be proper in the actual sense of the term, let alone the use resorted to by every other self proclaimed godman nowadays. Now we continue with our present concern.

Everyone has a hard time justifying astrology as a science due to the wide variations that exist within the world of humans. The definition of astrology is an ancient system of divination using the positions of the planets, moon, and stars. According to astrology the celestial bodies exert specific energies that influence people and events. These influences may be determined by mapping positions in the sky at various times, but is still regarded today as a huge speculative issue due to the deep complexities and misunderstanding associating the field. What if the powers of Astrology had a deeper meaning, which stretched into the spiritual world and the ethereal planes of existence, including the very top-tier planes of power. Astrology is widely interpreted by every human on earth, but only a certain few have a defined ability to understand anything about it. A fair amount of people define astrology as “nonsense” and “childish” through lack of understanding. These are of course the usual human reactions to something we can’t understand.

Astrology is practiced differently throughout the world. Some parts of the world utilize the study of all of the “stars” including the planets, the moon, and the sun. America has been leaning toward use of strictly sun signs over the last several decades as horoscopes have invaded virtually all print media. Other areas of the world, such as China, utilize only the moon cycles in their studies of astrology.

Horoscopes can be found everywhere. They are in your local newspaper. They are in magazines. Horoscopes are even found at your supermarket. And, surprisingly, many people buy and read these horoscopes thinking that they are accurate.
